From the CKY Videos to Jackass: How People Found Us
A lot of people heard CKY before they ever knew our name. Our music came to them through the CKY videos and Jackass. Here's how that happened.
What were the CKY videos?
A video series that shares our name. The CKY videos were where many people first heard us. Jess Margera's brother is Bam Margera, and his videos used our music, so the band and the videos grew up side by side.
That's where our first recognition came from: the CKY video series, and then the Jackass TV series.
When did our music reach Jackass?
October 2000. That's when our songs started showing up on Jackass. Skating, stunts and loud guitars turned out to be a good fit, and it put CKY in front of a lot of new ears.
Did we write anything for the films?
Yes: "Afterworld". We wrote it for Jackass 3D in 2010.
How does that show up in our merch?
Through the name. The CKY letters are at the heart of our designs: bold, simple and easy to spot across a skate park or a crowded room.
What should I wear to the skate park?
A tee that can take a fall: our tees are made for moving.
A hoodie for the ride home: the same designs, with a hood for when the sun goes down.
A long sleeve for cooler sessions: a little more cover without the bulk.
